Our client is a global leader in aerospace and advanced manufacturing, specializing in the production of high-precision, build-to-print components for major OEMs including MTU, GE, and Pratt & Whitney. With multiple North American sites, the organization is known for technical excellence, innovation, and its ability to industrialize complex new products involving exotic alloys, multi-axis machining, and stringent AS9100 requirements.
This NPI Manager role is highly visible and critical to the successful launch, validation, and production-readiness of new aerospace programs.
your responsibilities
- Lead CNC Programming for all machining operations using innovative cutting strategies to enable a lights-out (close doors) process.
- Develop, innovate, and validate manufacturing processes for new aerospace components.
- Lead cross-functional teams across design, engineering, quality, and operations to ensure smooth NPI execution.
- Set and manage NPI project timelines, budgets, deliverables, and capital equipment requests.
- Provide technical oversight during quotation and early design phases to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct risk assessments, implement mitigation plans, and resolve technical issues to prevent project delays.
- Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Lead first article approvals and ensure machining capability targets including >1.33 Cpk.
- Manage technology transfer and handoff to the sustaining production team.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, QMS, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications (GE, MTU, PW, etc.).
